Football Fans,
Our highlight matches of the week start this afternoon with the return leg of the Champions League Quarterfinals. Chelsea travel north to try and erase a 1-0 deficit, as they face Manchester United at Old Trafford with a 12:45pm lunchtime kickoff. The Blues were able to mount plenty of pressure in the first leg, but could not find the net against their rivals. The Red Devils have been the side to beat all season, and it will be a very difficult task for Chelsea to break them down. In our other Tuesday Champions League fixture, Barcelona travel to the Ukraine to take on Shakhtar Donetsk. Barcelona holds a four goal aggregate advantage going into this one, and it will take nothing short of a miracle for theUkrainiansto advance here.

Wednesday brings us the other two Champions League Quarterfinal match ups, and both Inter Milan and Tottenham look set to exit the competition. Tottenham would have to win outright by a score of 4-0 over Real Madrid to even have a chance at advancing, while Inter will have to score at least four against Schalke to overturn their deficit. Highly unlikely, but stranger things have happened in football. The true highlight match of the day however is the Rocky Mountain Cup Derby between our Colorado Rapids and their rivals Real Salt Lake (http://www.bulldogsupporters.com/events/detail.php?eventID=64 ). If you have been following this rivalry over the past few years, you wont want to miss this match. These are arguably the two best sides in MLS Football, and theyll both be out to prove it. Salt Lakes Rio Tinto Stadium is an absolute fortress, with Real going undefeated at home for the entire 2010 season (and the beginning of this season). If any team can get the job done against them though, it is the Colorado Rapids. Coming off of their poorest performance in quite some time, Colorado has all the motivation in the world to leave Salt Lake with a victory. The Bulldog will be hosting an away game viewing party (7pm kickoff), and the house will be rocking in support of our Boys! If you are not making the journey to Utah for the match, get on your Burgundy and get down to the Bulldog for this one!

Our weekend has some terrific football in store for usl. Highlight matches include both FA Cup Semifinals live from Wembley Stadium, and the Spanish Super Clasico between Real Madrid and Barcelona. Saturday morning we see Manchester City face Manchester United in the first Semifinal of the FA Cup. Manchester City has long been in the shadow of their local rivals, and they have everything to play for here. To their advantage, City do not have a tough mid week test like United. Saturday afternoon the Super Clasico kicks off at 2pm. Real Madrid has been chasing Barcelona all season long, and they have not forgotten the 5-0 defeat suffered at the hands of the Catalonians earlier this season. Christiano Ronaldo is trailing Lionel Messi by one goal to lead the league in scoring, and both players will have something to prove here. Sunday morning we have two top tier matches. First Arsenal take on Liverpool at the Emirates, and then we see Bolton facing Stoke in the other FA Cup semi. Both games have plenty of promise, and will be a good finish to a great weekend. Cheers all, and lets go Rapids!
