Feature Matches
Plenty of midweek football on tap at the Lions this week, with the action starting this afternoon.Todays highlight will be the Lionel Messi show. With a goal against Granada today he willbe tied as Barcelonas all time leading goal scorer, and with two hell break the record.Little Lionel is only 24yrs old.West Ham will try to regain their form against Middlesborough in another lunchtime clash, while Juventus take on AC Milan in the Coppa Italia.
Wednesday lunch brings us a full schedule of fixtures, with the highlight being Chelseas trip to faceManchester City. A huge match for both clubs, as Chelsea are keen to stay in the mix for a Champions League spot, and City must keep the pressure on United. In addition to this great fixture, we will be carrying coverage of the Spurs, Arsenal, Liverpool, Everton, QPR, and Real Madrid. Lunch special of the day is our spicy Green Pork Curry, well worth the trip down to the Pub in and of itself.
Our USA U-23 National Team begins its Olympic qualifying campaign with a 7pm kickoff Thursday night against Cuba, simultaneous to our coverage of the NCAASweet 16. Olympic qualifying continues Friday evening with Mexico facing Trinadad & Tobago and Honduras taking on Panama. Well also have a decent MLS fixture Friday night as Seattle host Houston at 8pm.
Our weekend has a few key matches to focus on. We start early Saturday with Chelsea hosting Tottenham at Stamford Bridge (6:45am KO). Both Arsenal and Liverpool are in action in the mid morning, followed by Barcelona, Manchester City, Real Madrid, and a full day of MLS football. Later in the day our USA U-23s are back in action against Canada. Sunday morningwe have something special, as Fox Soccer has picked up coverage of the Scottish Premier League. The Old Firm Derby between Rangers and Celtic kicks off at 7am, and despite the Rangers financial woes, this will be a knock down drag out affair. Later in the day our hometown club, the Colorado Rapids, take on the New York Red Bulls. Colorado is 2-0 under new Manager Oscar Pareja, and will look to deliver a third crushing defeat to the NYRBs pathetic start to 2012. The Three Lions will be hosting an away game viewing party, and the match will be featured with volume throughout the Pub!
To finish this incredible week of football we have two games slated for Monday. Lunchtime pits Manchester United against Fulham, with a 2pm kickoff. In the evening the USA U-23s wrap up the group phase of their Olympic Qualifying against El Salvador (7pm KO). Join us for a great day, and enjoy $7.50 Fish & Chips all day and $5 20oz Fullers Ales from 3pm on.
