Feature Matches
The Champions League Quarterfinals second leg feature mid week.  Borussia Dortmund are back at home, trying to overcome a 3-0 deficit to Real Madrid.  The return of Robert Lewandowski bolsters their hopes a bit, but they have a long uphill climb.  Chelsea are in the same boat, but did manage an away goal against PSG in the first leg.  They trail 1-3, but would only need two goals to take the upper hand.   Wednesday's Champion League action finds things a bit tighter.  Manchester United travel to Bayern Munchen tied on aggregate 1-1.  Everyone remembers the 1999 Final between these two Clubs, a prime example that anything can happen, even when all seems lost.  Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are also locked at the horns with a 1-1 aggregate score, as they head back to Atleti's home ground.  Barca lost the services of Gerard Piquet, and are facing a few other injury woes, that could open the door for the underdogs from Madrid.  Everytime these two sides have met this season it has been an unbelievably close battle.  By the start of the day Friday, the field will be set for the Champions League Semifinals!
The FA Cup Semifinals take place Saturday and Sunday morning.   Saturday Wigan take on a struggling Arsenal side, with a 10am kickoff.  The Latics have played the role of giant killers before, and this match at Wembley will be another opportunity for them to play that role.  Sunday morning we start early, with a match that could very well decide the EPL title.  Top of the table Liverpool host Manchester City at Anfield.  These two Clubs have so much firepower, this should be an absolute thriller, with every ball contested to the very limit.  This match is followed directly by the other FA Cup Semifinal between Hull City and Sheffield United.  Not the biggest names, but a huge match in a storied competition.  Should be a great battle.
In the MLS, our Colorado Rapids travel to Toronto, to take on the refurbished Canadian side (2pm).   The Rapids are coming off a huge win, with the "Matador" (Jose Mari) stepping up to get the job done last week.  Toronto has gone from the laughing stock of the league, to serious contenders, with the addition of Mike Bradley and Jermain Defoe (amongst others).  This will be the second week in a row the Rapids have to play on turf, so don't expect to see playmaker and catalyst Vicente Sanchez for a second week in a row.  The Away Game Viewing Party starts at Three Lions at 1pm, and we will have Carlsberg and Great Divide Draughts on special throughout the duration of the match.  We will also be giving away a Brazuca World Cup match ball to a lucky Rapids supporter at the conclusion of the match.  So join us, and other great Rapids fans, in support of our hometown team as we continue to climb the table in the West!
On the Horizon
Next week we have a few EPL make up matches mid week, but the real mid week highlight is another installment of the Super Clasico.  Real Madrid and Barcelona meet on Wednesday afternoon in the Copa Del Rey Final!  The Colorado Rapids return home, and host the San Jose Earthquakes Saturday afternoon.  We also have a full weekend of Club football from the EPL, La Liga, Serie A, and the Bundesliga.
