Away Game Viewing Parties

The BSG will be hosting viewing parties for this game, shown live (with sound) from the JELD-WEN Field, Portland. All fans are invited to come to one of the venues below & join us in creating the best football supporting atmosphere in Colorado.

Downtown Denver

Our Downtown Denver viewing party will be at the BSG's HQ, the British Bulldog, located at 2052 Stout Street, Denver. A map can be found here.

Our Colorado Springs viewing party will be at McCabe's Tavern, located at 520 South Tejon Street, Colorado Springs. A map can be found here.

Away Game Trip Details

After the BSG's success in hosting the Timbers Army at our home opener, we have been invited up to Portland for the return fixure on June 11th in what promises to be one of the THE away weekends of the year! This trip is designated as a 'Rapids On Tour' day where all fans should make an effort to attend.

The BSG will be taking match tickets & hotel reservations only & you are responsible for booking flights / arranging you own transport to the Portland area. To guarantee a spot you need to reserve & pay by Friday June 3rd, after that you will be on your own for arrangements.

Stadium Information

Already steeped in sports and entertainment history, JELD-WEN Field has undergone a $31 million renovation that promises to make it the most 'intimate, exciting and authentic soccer facility in the United States' in time for the Portland Timbers inaugural MLS season. It is located right in the middle of the downtown Portland area.

Driving Directions & Parking

JELD-WEN Field is located in the heart of downtown Portland, just off I-405.

Two-hour parking is allowed in the Goose Hollow neighborhood. Parking is not allowed at Fred Meyer, while neighborhoods surrounding JELD-WEN Field offer parking by permit only. Fans are encouraged to take TriMet to JELD-WEN Field events. Fans that drive to the stadium are encouraged to park in one of the many parking structures in downtown Portland.

Match Tickets

Match tickets costing $23 are available in Section 223 in the southwest corner of the stadium, which is allocated to visiting supporters. There is 1 way to purchase:

- From the British Bulldog up until Friday June 3rd (tickets will be distributed in Portland & may be reserved in advance for pickup / payment here).

Air Travel

The nearest airport is Portland International (PDX) located about 12 miles northeast of downtown & the stadium. Frontier, Southwest & United all fly non-stop from Denver to Portland for fares of around $200.

As ever, flight prices can change on a daily basis, particularly within 2 weeks of the trip. The BSG recommends you book your flights as soon as possible to secure the best prices.

The BSG (with a little help from the Timbers Army) has negotiated a $50 (including tax) per person rate (based on 2 sharing) or $89 (including tax) for single rooms with 1 queen bed for bookings at the Inn @ Park Lane Suites, located at 809 SW King Avenue, Portland, OR 97205. To / From The Airport

A cab to the downtown area will cost about $30-50 and is therefore not recommended by the locals.

The best option is to use the TriMet MAX (Light Rail) Red Line which connects the airport with the downtown area every 17/18 minutes for $2.35 one-way or $4.75 for a day pass. The journey takes approximately 45 minutes & the light rail also picks up from various locations downtown. The stop serving our hotel / stadium is JELD-WEN Field.

To / From The Stadium

The stadium is located downtown, no more than 3 blocks from the hotel, public transit & pregame bar.

Base & Pregame Bar

Pregame drinks with Portland supporters group, the Timbers Army, will be held from 4pm at the Bitter End Pub, located at 1981 West Burnside Street, Portland. This neighborhood pub is just 1 block away from the stadium. Before the game we plan to watch USA v Panama in the CONCACAF Gold Cup which kicks-off at 5pm PT.

Tailgate

Portland supporters group, the Timbers Army, welcomes visiting supporters to its tailgate located at SW Salmon Street / SW 18th Avenue starting at 1pm. If you plan to show up, please Email Richard Bamber so we can contact the group in advance on your behalf. Also if you do not take any food or drink wuth you, please bring a donation of about $5 to help cover costs.
